What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic position at MS Park Construction LLC?
PNK group is looking for a star Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance and longevity of our Construction fleet of heavy equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures the proper functioning of equipment and safe operation, technical maintenance, and repair of equipment, machines, and mechanisms, and compliance by personnel with technological discipline during work production.
- Organizes schedules for the technical maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment, submits requests for centralized major repairs, and obtains necessary parts and lubricants for planned and preventive maintenance and current machinery repairs.
- Participates in the acceptance, installation, and testing of new equipment, conducts certification and rationalization of workplaces, and modernizes and replaces inefficient equipment with high-performance ones
- Takes part in implementing mechanization tools for heavy physical and labor-intensive tasks.
- Studies the working conditions of equipment, machinery, units, and individual components to identify the causes of premature wear and analyzes reasons for downtime related to the technical condition of equipment and machinery.
- Prepares lifting equipment and other objects of state supervision for inspection by the State Technical Supervision.
- Participates in verifying equipment and machinery for technical accuracy, establishes optimal operating modes for machinery, and develops instructions for technical operation, lubrication, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintains technical documentation, journals, and compiles documents confirming the serviceability of machines and mechanisms and their technical certification. Conducts timely inspections of detachable cargo handling devices in the repair zone with recording in the journal.
- Ensures proper organization and safe conduct of work, operation of equipment, mechanisms, and tools following safety rules and norms.
- Ensures compliance by workers with labor and production discipline, instructions on labor protection, the safe operation and maintenance of equipment, and instructions on the safe conduct of work.
- Controls the working conditions. Daily checks the condition of workplaces, the proper operation of equipment, mechanisms, devices, and tools, and takes measures to eliminate any defects found.
- Controls the timely verification of workers' knowledge of occupational safety requirements. Prevent workers without training and knowledge verification of occupational safety requirements from independent work and performing tasks
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience with heavy equipment repairs and maintenance
- Use of defensive driving techniques
- Ability to operate both a manual and automatic transmission
- Valid Driver’s License – CDL is a plus
- Vocational or Technical School Certification Preferred, but not required
