Custodian

Vocational-level Custodian accountable for cleaning office areas or resident areas. Works under general direction and follows set instructions and directions. Works as part of a cleaning crew. Operates a variety of power cleaning equipment. Responsible for maintaining an inventory of supplies and tools and notifying supervisor of resupply needs. May perform routine maintenance on cleaning equipment.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 0-1 year of work experience.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities. This role involves various custodial tasks to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal
- Maintain and clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
- Conduct industrial and commercial cleaning duties to uphold cleanliness standards
- Assist with facilities maintenance including minor repairs and upkeep
- Handle buffing and floor care tasks to preserve the quality of surfaces
- Support residential painting projects as needed
- Ensure all areas are clean, sanitized, and presentable for staff and visitors
- Act as a custodial porter to address immediate cleaning needs

Experience:
- Proven experience in custodial or related roles
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and machinery effectively
- Experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is a plus
- Familiarity with maintaining various surfaces and materials
