Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team. As CFO, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, including financial statements, budgeting, and tax compliance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting, including billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
- Create, maintain, and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage payroll, GAAP financial reporting, and monthly financials packages, with financial covenant tracking.
- Oversee daily cash flow tasks.
- Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management.
- Define, benchmark, and implement operational best practices, and evaluate and implement best cloud-based accounting solutions.
Reporting:
- Issue timely and complete financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
- Assist in the management and production of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Monitor cash and funding balances.
- Provide financial analyses as needed, particularly for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Develop relevant KPI's that aid in meeting the strategic objectives of the company.
Compliance:
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing.
Human Resources:
- Assist with human resource functions, including new hires and employee relations, compensation and benefits, health and safety, and others.
- Monitor HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates, cost-per-hire).
Requirements:
- 7 years of progressively responsible experience in business finance and accounting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and experience with software system implementation.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles and GAAP.
- Solid exposure to financial modeling and various techniques.
- Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions.
- BA or BS degree required (Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance).
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with Private Equity backed companies in a senior finance role.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing and/or packaging environment.

- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
- Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently.
- Experience working with, and presenting to, senior executives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with executive-level management.
