The Foaming Associate is primarily responsible for operating foam molding machines, ensuring the quality of the produced foam parts by performing regular inspections, setting up machine parameters, monitoring production processes, and maintaining a clean and safe work area, all while adhering to established safety procedures and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up and operating assigned foam molding mixing machines.
- Adjusting machine settings to achieve desired foam density and quality.
- Monitoring machine pressures and cycle times.
- Loading and unloading parts from the machine.
- Preparing molds and parts for foaming.
- Monitoring foam quality during the process.
- Inspecting foam parts before and after foaming for defects like bubbles, inconsistencies, or dimensional errors.
- Identifying and reporting any quality issues to supervisors.
- Performing basic maintenance on foaming equipment.
- Maintaining accurate production records.
- Tracking production volumes and maintaining desired production rates.
- Recording production data and maintaining necessary documentation.
Performing basic machine maintenance tasks like cleaning and lubrication.
Identifying and reporting potential machine malfunctions.
Assisting with minor repairs as needed.
Following all safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Experience operating machinery.
- Will receive on-the-job training often provided to learn specific foaming techniques and quality standards related to the manufacturing process.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Mechanical skills needed and basic understanding of machinery operation and maintenance.
- Attention to detail with ability to closely inspect foam quality and identify defects.
- Following instructions and ability to accurately follow written and verbal procedures for mixing foam components and operating equipment.
- Physical ability and capability to lift and move materials as needed.
- Safety awareness and understanding and adherence to safety protocols related to chemicals and machinery.
Desired skills:
- Experience with quality checks and documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with the foaming process.
- Ability to collaborate with other production team members.
- Ability to measure and calculate ingredients accurately.
