Now hiring for Shipper Trainee to join our Murrysville, Pennsylvania manufacturing plant team. The responsibilities of this position are primarily to:
- Prepare product or materials for shipment to include physically moving, shrink wrapping, and applying address labels as well as ensuring ergonomic consideration is met.
- Create documents including freight and bills of lading, shipping orders and delivery notes using various computer programs including SAP and UPS WorldShip and ShipExec shipping software, Microsoft Outlook Email, and Teams Software.
- Load product from staging areas to trailers according to priority, First In/First Out, and ensure these staging areas and lanes are kept organized.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
- Pick, pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping for internal and external customers, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
- Train on hazardous material shipment and Department of Transportation regulations and demonstrate knowledge when necessary - may schedule trucks for shipping.
- Complete and maintain reports and other departmental paperwork on time.
- Communicate with vendors, internal associates, and/or drivers to rectify problems.
- Must meet all position certification criteria.
Ability to:
- operate a computer and perform standard software operations including demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- frequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds daily without assistance.
- to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporaries.
- to concentrate on detailed information for prolonged periods of time.
- to use hand tools.
- operate a fork truck, pallet jack and shrink wrap machine.
- obtain Basic and Advanced Hazardous Material certification.
- wear ANSI Z87 approved safety glasses, ANSI 241 approved safety shoes, and other PPE as required.

Education and experience required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three months past manufacturing/shipping/warehouse related experience.
Experience preferred:
- Six months or more of previous shipping/storeroom/warehouse experience.
- Previous customer facing experience.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.
