Responsibilities

Leadership, Staffing, and Development

  • Lead the plant to maintain an optimal mix of skills, staff size, and development activities to meet organizational objectives.
  • Set objectives for supervisors and group leaders, monitor progress, and provide coaching.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships at all levels within the organization.


Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

  • Drive a proactive safety culture through programs like Behavior-Based Safety and ergonomic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.


Quality

  • Guarantee products meet design and regulatory standards and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to the MSA Quality Management System.


Delivery Performance

  • Establish production systems to meet customer delivery expectations.


Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and other departments to reduce product costs.


New Product Development (NPD)

  • Work with NPD teams to ensure new products are introduced into production on time and within budget.


Financial Performance

  • Develop and achieve performance goals aligned with the annual budget.
  • Manage plant performance in customer service, quality, safety, employee relations, and compliance.


Capital Equipment Management

  • Identify and plan for short- and long-term capital equipment needs.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong working relationships with other key functions such as Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.


Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership to execute strategic priorities and drive measurable results.
  • Excellent team-building and motivational skills to create a cohesive team environment.
  • Strong written, oral communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Business and financial acumen to drive organizational outcomes.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, delegate authority, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to develop talent and build future leadership.
  • Success in achieving goals through cross-functional collaboration and strong stakeholder relationships.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience leading Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or EHS initiatives.
  • Supervisory experience in multi-department, multi-shift operations.
  • Familiarity with the MSA Operating System for aligning performance to objectives.


Education and Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in business or related technical field.
  • Level One: 3 years of production supervisory/project management experience plus 4 years of production/related experience. Advanced degrees or relevant military experience may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
  • Level Two: 4 years of production supervisory/project management experience plus 5 years of production/related experience. Advanced degrees or relevant military experience may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
