Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Assist in tube feeding procedures for patients who require nutritional support.
- Maintain accurate patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Support hospice care initiatives, ensuring comfort and dignity for terminally ill patients.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with other healthcare professionals.
- Offer specialized care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Engage with patients who have developmental disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all patients by following infection control protocols.
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in roles involving direct patient interaction. Familiarity with the following skills is highly desirable:
