Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Position Overview:
MSAD #75 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our teams at Mt. Ararat Middle School and High School. The BCBA will work collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents to provide evidence-based behavior analysis services that support students with behavioral challenges and help improve social, emotional, and academic outcomes. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of MSAD #75 students by promoting positive behavioral change within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behavioral Assessments:
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the causes and functions of challenging behaviors.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to student behavior.
- Develop, train and support implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment results.
- Behavioral Intervention:
- Use evidence-based strategies to promote desired behaviors and reduce problematic behaviors.
- Monitor and modify interventions as needed, based on student progress and response to treatment.
- Collaboration and Training:
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, counselors, and other professionals to integrate behavior interventions into the classroom and school environment.
- Provide ongoing consultation and support to school staff in implementing behavior management strategies.
- Train and mentor staff in behavior analysis techniques and promote best practices in behavioral interventions.
- Parent and Caregiver Support:
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to share progress, provide behavioral strategies, and offer support for the generalization of skills outside the school environment.
- Conduct meetings with parents to review behavioral data, intervention plans, and progress updates.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of behavior intervention plans, assessment results, progress notes, and data collection.
- Generate reports and provide regular updates on student progress for school records and to inform individualized education plan (IEP) meetings.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Certification:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.

- Experience with students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disabilities, or other behavioral challenges.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and collaborating with school teams.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of behavior analysis principles and evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and progress monitoring.
- Ability to work with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
