Maine School Administrative District 75 (MSAD 75) is seeking a Long-Term Middle School Art Teacher Substitute to join our vibrant educational community. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.
The assignment will run from May 8th through June 16, 2025
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Exhibit passion and a commitment to helping all students learn at a high level and foster an appreciation for the visual arts.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of visual arts content and pedagogy at the middle school level.
- Plan and teach units of instruction that address MSAD No. 75 learning goals and provide a diverse range of art experiences.
- Utilize effective classroom management and student engagement practices.
- Collaborate with school and district colleagues to showcase student artwork.
- Use skills to communicate successfully with students, colleagues and families.
- Contribute to a school culture of appreciation, collegiality and innovation.
- All other non-teaching duties per negotiated contract.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art, Art Education or related degree.
- State of Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification PreK-12 Art (endorsement 620) required.
- State of Maine background check (CHRC) authorization.
- Commitment to continuous self-improvement and learning.
- Experience with Marzano’s elements of effective teaching practice preferred.
