MSB Law is a growing values-driven law firm based in Overland Park that serves as Trusted Legal Counsel for Values-Driven Business Owners across Kansas and Missouri. The firm specializes in serving business owner clients in all phases including start-up, business contracts and operations, business growth and expansion (including M&A), business succession planning, business & civil litigation (including Torts), and more.  We’re seeking an Associate Attorney to expand our growing litigation team. Associate Attorney will work directly with clients as lead counsel for litigation cases, collaborate with and be mentored by a senior attorney, and have strong opportunities for development and advancement.

· Strives to always put the best interests of the client, then the firm, before self-interests.

· Promotes a team atmosphere and positive work environment. 

· Cares about giving back to the community, through service projects and approved pro bono.

Qualifications and Expectations:

· Growing lawyer with at least 7 years of relevant litigation experience, licensed in KS and MO.

· 1800 annual billable hours (inclusive of 180 hours pro bono work through firm’s pro bono initiative).

· Excellent litigation skills in all phases, including strategy, pre-litigation, discovery, ESI, motions, mediation and settlement, and trial.  1^st or 2^nd chair trial experience a definite plus.

· Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage both paper and electronic documents (ESI), independently coordinate calendar and appointments, and meet all client and litigation deadlines.

· Portable book of business is a definite plus, but not specifically required.  

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary commensurate with experience, plus opportunities for performance-based bonuses.  Benefits include firm paid health insurance (85% of health, vision, dental), 401k, PTO, paid VTO (volunteer time off) for community service, paid pro bono, flex-schedule, and more.
