Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing the billing processes associated with container usage. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring precise invoicing aligned with container rental periods and prompt return to designated carrier facilities.
key responsibilities & duties
- Handles customer inquiries promptly and effectively; Collaborates closely with internal teams to streamline processes and ensure seamless coordination throughout the billing cycle.
- Generates and dispatches invoices for each container upon its return to the carrier's possession, adhering to established billing protocols.
- Ensures accuracy in invoice preparation to reflect container usage and rental periods, facilitating transparent transactions with clients.
- Ensures adherence to contractual terms governing container usage and billing procedures; Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures.
- Maintains comprehensive records of container statuses and billing particulars, utilizing efficient record-keeping systems to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Assists with other tasks and projects as assigned by the Demurrage & Detention Manager to support departmental objectives.
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics similar preferred, or previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry.
- Strong attention to detail
- Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively
- Strong customer service mindset, focused, and responsive
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Great team player
- Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software
- Knowledge of per diem charges and related industry regulations is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
