Import Customer Service Representative
MSC USA - Charleston
Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities:
Assists the clients with any concerns or issues they might have with their import shipments arriving to nationwide ports. Provides great customer service to satisfy client’s needs over the phone and email, whether it is for merchant haulage or intermodal shipments. Accurately records and logs interaction with customers to ensure data integrity for management reports and maintains productivity and service levels standards.
- Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customers problems and concerns. Exhausts all available tools to ensure customer’s needs are satisfied within first call. Goes the extra mile providing additional information to enhance customer’s experience.
- Answers phone calls and emails in a timely, professional, and effective manner.
- Provides timely and accurate responses to all inquiries regarding transportation statues and updates. Observes corporate guidelines when addressing customer inquiries regarding shipments.
- Reaches out to respective departments outside of Import Customer Service to amend and fix any discrepancies. Escalates unique or complex issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution when necessary.
- Anticipates potential problems before they arise as well as having problem solving skills to solve any unforeseen issues. Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- English: advanced
- Strong attention to details
- Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively
- Strong customer service mindset, focused, and responsive
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Great team player
- Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software
- Prior experience in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, call center, administrative or clerical jobs
