Job Summary
The Client Support Specialist is the client’s advocate within MSC and the customer’s primary point of contact. The Client Support Specialist provides exceptional customer service across diverse communication channels, aiming to maintain an ongoing positive relationship with the customer and all 3PL providers, such as brokers and/or forwarders, to maximize customer satisfaction and loyalty to MSC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as the first point of contact at MSC for VIP customer.
- Monitors and reports on incoming cargo for qualifying VIP clients daily.
- Identifies and anticipates customers’ needs.
- Cultivates and manages relationships with participating accounts through high level of customer service.
- Strictly follows company policies and procedures.
- Resolves customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Monitors account performance, identifying and reporting trends to management.
- Establishes relationships with other departments (Sales/Trades/Bids/SVC/Intermodal) to develop successful partnerships.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in a similar role (supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, etc.)
- English: advanced
- Strong attention to details
- Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively
- Strong customer service mindset, focused, and responsive
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Great team player
- Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software
- Knowledge of MSC systems (e.g. link, terminal websites): fundamental
- Knowledge of custom and shipping regulations: intermediate
