Job Summary
Assists customers with matters related to inland transportation of their cargo, by rail and / or truck.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews data to reposition empty containers. Coordinates all repositioning with Geneva Logistics.
- Liaises with Branch Offices, Planners, and Vessel Reconciliation to facilitate all moves.
- Accountable for handling the assigned services (groups of vessels serving a set of ports) to reposition MSC equipment to regions, following the guidance of Geneva Headquarters.
- Analyzes and supervises the equipment capacity fluidity for the assigned group of ports, to ensure that each port remains fluid and has the necessary equipment to cover export.
- Analyzes the inbound and outbound flow of equipment to properly forecast short term equipment needs and availability in various locations.
- Coordinates with various departments (e.g. Planning vessel reconciliation, equipment department) and outside parties the management of equipment and vessel allocations to efficiently reposition the equipment as indicated by Geneva Headquarters.
- Collects data, verifies the accuracy, fixes the errors, interprets data, creates reports required by Geneva Logistics.
- Escalates unique or complex issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience
- Preferred skills / abilities
- VBA, Access
- Shipping industry knowledge
- Proficient MS Excel (ex: pivot tables, charts & graphs, macros)
