About the Role:
Join us as a Principal Supply Chain Strategist where your mission will be to drive efficiency, enhance quality, and improve associate morale within MSC's dynamic environment. Not only will you lead strategic initiatives within our Customer Fulfillment Centers, but your role will also serve as a beacon for functional, technical, and process leadership across the organization.
Location: Atlanta, GA or Harrisburg, PA (preference for Atlanta). Travel required approximately 50% to other U.S. locations. Must be well-versed in AutoCAD, MS Project, conveyors, lean manufacturing, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and guide large-scale implementation projects from concept to completion.
- Foster strategic thinking and offer logistics and distribution insights across our CFC network.
- Work collaboratively to innovate logistics processes that improve efficiencies.
- Introduce cutting-edge logistics technologies and processes to ensure optimal operations.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to elevate logistics practices while minimizing associated risks.
- Prepare, present, and obtain strategic initiative approvals from senior management.
- Cultivate a profound understanding of material handling equipment.
- Allocate and manage capital budgets effectively each fiscal year for designated centers.
- Champion confidentiality and strategic planning within the department.
- Drive MSC’s organizational culture and participate in special assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Industrial Engineering Bachelor’s Degree mandatory.
- A minimum of five years of engineering experience within distribution settings is non-negotiable.
- Proven track record in multi-million dollar project management.
- Substantial experience in preventive maintenance for handling systems.
- Expertise in conveyor control systems.
Skill Set:
- Highly computer literate with proficiency in key software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, AutoCAD, and more.
- Exemplary data manipulation abilities alongside superior communication and project management prowess.
- Stellar organizational and time management skills.
Extra Essentials:
- Valid driver’s license with the capacity to travel 50% of the time.
