Role Overview
The Cashiering and Payment Processor is primarily responsible for working all exception reports on all types of cash related transactions including but not limited to Corporate Advance transactions, Return Check Disposition and Suspense Posting transactions. The Cash and Payment Processor also performs QC on all cash batch transactions for third party vendors and timely disposition of all open items. All employees of Mortgage Solutions Financial are expected to provide quality customer service and maintain high ethical standards when serving our clients.
Essential Duties: In addition to related job duties as assigned, this position will:
Process Checks received from borrowers into the Black Knight system.
Reconcile each batch processed to checks processed on the Black Knight system.
Process payoff checks or incoming wires received.
Reverse payments for NSFs, insufficient funds, or other reasons.
Scan each batch of checks processed by end of day business.
Work with Lockbox Vendor to determine exception payments.
Review Daily Output Reports from Black Knight (MSP).
Assist with Supervisor reconcile daily payment clearing account.
Assist with Supervisor reconcile daily Black Knight cash balancing form.
Assist with Supervisor or Manager for cash posting task items.
Research on misapplied payments.
Assist with Supervisor or Manager for any other task or projects.
Assist I-Disburse Administrator with distributing checks to various departments.
Ongoing training.
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge
Proven two years of cash processing experience in a banking or mortgage company.
Attention to accuracy, working with numbers, and strong Excel skills.
Ability to create and use Excel spreadsheets while mastering v-lookup and pivot tables to manage data collected.
Client-centered focus.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent listening, organizational, and communication skills.
Capacity to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of all cash functions and workstations in a MSP platform environment.
Current mortgage industry knowledge of servicing policies and procedures is a plus.
Bilingual skills a plus.
Physical Requirements
Stationary position; prolonged periods at a desk and working on the computer.
Occasional movement about inside the office to walk to offices and office machinery.
Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
