Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization.

Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization.
DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gains industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
- Rotates in support of different Customer Development personnel, learns as well as observing and assisting associates currently performing Customer Development functions.
- Gains industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments and may participate in various training programs.
- Learns MSC's products, services, sales techniques, and culture.
- Supports initial contact engagement and customer expansion through research, disruptive messaging, and customer contact (phone and email).
- Supports Customer Development in various activities and travels to customer sites to learn about Customer Development techniques.
- Develops Customer Development skills needed for career in industrial distribution.
- Supports assigned manager with business project work.
- Presents intern project results to business leaders.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSCs mission.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma required.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university or technical trade school.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
- Knowledge of general internet business research techniques is preferred. (Google, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Knowledge of Challenger Sales Process is preferred.
- Knowledge of machine tooling is preferred.
- Experience in inside or outside sales preferred.
- Superb interpersonal skills required.
- Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.
- A valid driver's license is required; some local travel with the field sales is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.
