Duties And Responsibilities
Strategic Development of MSC Quality & Management Systems
- Designs and delivers an organizational-wide management system strategy with key milestones and metrics against a 3-5 yr. plan.
- Contributes to new business initiatives, contracts and projects to communicate impact on management systems.
- Builds expansion of current management systems to allow for movement into additional markets, such as Food & Beverage, Aerospace and Healthcare.
- Develops and tracks total cost of quality. Presents during overall management review process
- Designs and develops for innovation. For example; simplified and sustainable packaging for core customers and process improvements.
- Develops and tracks total cost of quality. Presents during overall management review process.
- Develop and provide coaching/mentoring of Quality team.
- Create and lead corporate-wide Quality Council.
- Creates, implements and sustains policies, procedures and best practices to drive continual improvement. Ensures all are updated to meet requirements and adhere to appropriate document control practices.
- Develops, implements and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) for Quality and Management Systems.
- Integrates Headquarters management systems into all distribution facilities and manage central certifications where necessary.
- Liaises with distribution quality assurance teams and acts as an informal lead on critical activities, such as customer improvements, management reviews and metrics.
- Serves as primary quality control and assurance resource to internal and external customers for problem identification, resolution and loss reporting.
- Interacts with customers as required to include quality and/or management system provisions are included in the overall process.
- Interacts with customers on critical Requests For Purchase (RFPs).
- Manages all external registration requirements and management system contractors as needed.
- Develop quality budget and manage key quality contracts, if necessary.
- Conducts and schedules internal and external audits as required by third parties, customers and/or other.
- Ensures corrective actions are undertaken to close out non-conformances found.
- Collaborates with operational QA to ensure corrective actions and non-conformances are shared across the network.
- Establishes and manages a detailed corrective action database within the Central Management System (CMS).
- Track critical supplier corrective actions and represent MSC in customer reviews for high-risk portfolio.
- Liaisons and informally leads quality assurance professionals in the manufacturing setting.
- Develops and implement a Quality and Management Systems curriculum for the MSC organization.
- Continual professional training and development within the Quality and Management Systems arena.
- Performs all duties inherent in the role of an MSC Director including hiring, termination, review and development of associates.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC s vision and unity of purpose.
