Job Title: Infant Room Teacher (Preschool)

We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and experienced Infant Room Teacher to join our dedicated team and make a difference in the lives of our youngest learners.

Position Overview:

The Infant Room Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for infants aged [6weeks-12months]. The role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote sensory, motor, and social skills, as well as maintaining a calm and structured environment that supports the emotional needs of the children in your care. The Infant Room Teacher works closely with other teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the well-being and development of each child in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Development: Plan and implement daily routines and activities that are developmentally appropriate for infants, focusing on motor skills, sensory exploration, socialization, and early language development.
  • Create a Nurturing Environment: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that fosters a loving and nurturing environment where infants feel secure and valued.
  • Observations & Assessments: Conduct regular observations of each child’s development and behavior, documenting milestones and progress. Share insights and progress reports with parents during conferences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers, parents, and the management team to create an inclusive, supportive, and educational environment for infants and toddlers.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the classroom and materials are sanitized regularly and that all children’s needs (feeding, diapering, etc.) are met with care and attention.
  • Parent Communication: Develop strong relationships with parents through regular communication, sharing updates on their child’s development and daily activities.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a positive, supportive, and engaging work environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A degree is not a requirement. It is however rewarded on the pay scale.
  • High School Diploma is a State requirement.

Experience:

  • At least 8 months- 1 year of experience working with infants or young children in a childcare or preschool setting.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development and best practices for infant care and education.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Compassionate and patient demeanor, with the ability to connect with children on an individual level.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with parents, staff, and children.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.75 - $16.00 per hour
