What you need to be successful To excel as a Safety Specialist at Golden Valley Electric Association, candidates should possess a solid educational foundation, ideally with an Associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Science, or Engineering. Alternatively, a minimum of three years of exclusive safety experience in an industrial environment may be accepted in lieu of formal education. A valid Alaska driver's license is essential for this role, along with at least eight years of relevant experience in an industrial work setting. Successful candidates will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office desktop programs is crucial, ensuring effective documentation and communication. Additionally, strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be vital for conducting incident investigations and developing impactful training materials.
