The Equity Factor Research team develops cutting-edge equity factor models and portfolio management tools, meeting the needs of a wide range of investment practitioners including asset managers, hedge funds, asset owners, and wealth managers. Our work enhances transparency in equity markets and empowers better portfolio decisions.
As part of the broader Analytics Research team, we collaborate to deliver insights across financial markets, with a focus on equity-specific innovations. We also work closely with product management to drive the vision and strategy for the Analytics business.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Please note that candidates can be located in Berkeley, CA or New York, NY
- Research and implement equity factor models using proprietary data, integrating financial theory with data science and AI techniques. Use advanced statistical methods to design, test, and refine models, and write production-quality code to implement models.
- Present complex models and insights to diverse audiences, and work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives.
- Engage with clients to address key investment challenges, drive innovative solutions, and identify new opportunities aligned with market developments.
- Demonstrate thought leadership through research innovation as well as publishing research papers and applied research pieces.
- You are a highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual with strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- You have an advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative field.
- You have strong interest in empirical modeling and data analysis, with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with and influence non-technical stakeholders.
- You have the proficiency of or willingness to learn production-level coding in Python or other programming languages.
- Experience in driving a research project.
- Knowledge and experience in Econometrics, Optimization, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
- Knowledge and experience in Finance is preferred but not required.
