Position: Northfield Jr/Sr High School is looking for a Math Teacher for Jr. High Students. With the main focus on Algebra.

To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Plans a program of study within state standards and curriculum guidelines that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Implements the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals, missions, and objectives through instruction, action, and professional development.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to appropriate and effective learning.
- Uses a variety of instructional methods and materials to meet established objectives and guide the learning process toward student achievement.
- Evaluates student progress on a regular basis and in a variety of ways.
- Recognizes the special needs and/or gifts of students and seeks the assistance of district specialists as required.
- Maintains established standards of classroom behavior.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Keeps records and reports as required by the state, district, and administration.
- Maintains appropriate professional certification and demonstrates participation in professional development designed to enhance teaching skills.
- Communicates with students, parents, and colleagues, and attempts to maintain cooperative relations with them.
- Supports active membership in professional organizations of their choice.
- Meets, prepares for, and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the designated times.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
- Follows state and local policies and procedures including attention to the Master Teacher Contract.
- Arranges for substitute teachers when necessary.
- Other appropriate responsibilities as assigned by the building principal.
