What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at MSG Entertainment?
The Financial Analyst will provide support to all areas of MSG Entertainment’s divisional finance (Live, Productions, Marquee Events, Venue Operations, Marketing Partnerships and Marketing), thus gaining exposure to a wide array of the entertainment business. This role will primarily assist all groups with monthly forecasts, annual budget, long range plan, financial reporting and various ad hoc analyses and special projects.
What will you do?
• Monthly Forecasts, Annual Budget and Long Range Plan:
o Assist with the preparation, uploading and entering of financial details (direct revenue and expenses, overhead and G&A expenses, capital expenditures) into the Oracle Hyperion system
o Become a Hyperion super user with the ability to identify, troubleshoot and create solutions to quickly remedy any issues that may arise
o Assist with the creation of presentation packages and support schedules for senior management and ensure consistency across businesses
o Monthly event cash forecasts
• Financial Reporting – assist with various reporting including but not limited to:
o Post event flash reporting: Food, Beverage and Merchandise revenue and product sales, Ticketing Fees, etc.
o Monthly: Assisting with month-end close including verifying event statistics and financials; post-close reporting including CFO variance analysis and monthly business reviews; and assisting with updating various monthly expense trackings
o Weekly: Supporting weekly senior management status reporting, suites catering
• Ad Hoc / Special Projects
o Consolidated company-wide reporting, e.g., venue utilization, ticketing
o Union rate analysis and updating internal budgeting systems
o Other projects as assigned
What do you need to succeed?
• BS in Business/Accounting or related field, MBA a plus.
• 1-2 years of experience in Finance/Accounting, preferably in financial analysis and budgeting in the Entertainment or Sports industry.
• Experience in Oracle and other ERP systems desired but not required
• Experience with Tableau
