Director of Procurement

Major Responsibilities:

 Manage the overall activities of the Purchasing/Central Supply and Materials Management Departments.

 Oversee evaluation, procurement, storage, distribution, and forecasting of all supplies and equipment.

 Establish and maintain policies for purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and supply distribution, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

 Develop and execute long- and short-range goals and objectives aligned with the company’s business strategy.

 Standardize products and equipment across the organization, working closely with vendors to implement inventory controls, distribution systems, and tracking mechanisms.

 Select suppliers based on quality of service and cost, negotiate pricing, and ensure sustainable supplier relationships without compromising quality or patient care.

 Develop and implement demand and supply planning processes, tools, and technologies.

 Audit supplier performance to ensure compliance with contracts and forecast usage and costs.

 Review and optimize purchasing practices, ensuring utilization of appropriate contracts and tiers.

 Assist in planning and budgeting phases of supply and equipment purchases, providing cost and usage reports and developing supply cost containment systems.

 Ensure accurate data integration with Finance/GL Accounting systems.

 Collaborate with procurement, inventory, distribution, and department leadership to reduce supply chain costs and improve efficiencies.

 Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

 Support the Chief Financial Officer with company-wide initiatives.

 Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of five years of professional leadership experience in Materials Management/Supply Chain within an acute care healthcare environment.
