Job Description
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents with severe and persistent mental illness. Provide daily supervision, medication management, individual therapy, and community outings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure resident safety at all times.
- De-escalate conflicts to maintain group safety.
- Report any unsafe environmental circumstances.
Professionalism
Demonstrate professionalism through receptivity to feedback, recognition of personal weaknesses, and continuous learning.
- Be receptive to supervisory feedback.
- Maintain current knowledge on psychiatric disorders and mental health.
Time and Attendance
Adhere to schedule and communicate absences in advance.
- Be on time for shifts.
- Notify supervisor of absences due to illness.

- Talk to employees directly about conflicts.
- Follow the chain of command to resolve issues.
Medication Assistance
Administer medications according to policy and procedure.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medications.
- Notify ED/LPN of medication discrepancies.

Engage in Psycho-Social Rehabilitation discussions and activities.
- Respect residents' right to privacy and dignity.
- Model positive behavior.
Documentation and Communication
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation.
- Complete incident forms accurately.
- Communicate pertinent information to the next shift.
Environmental Cleanliness
Maintain a clean and organized living environment.
- Perform walk-through evaluations.
- Assist residents with chores and cleaning tasks.
Food Preparation
Prepare meals according to menu or make substitutions as needed.
- Label and store leftovers properly.
Requirements
Meet the following minimum requirements:
- Age 18 or older.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful drug screen.
- Background check within company standards.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR/First aid certification.
- TB-Skin test result or completion through MSHN.
