Job Description
The Quality Manager will be responsible for leading our quality department in the areas of safety, service, performance, quality, and leadership. This includes providing direction and guidance to the quality team, maintaining continuous communication with all departments, establishing and reviewing HACCP programs, conducting customer, regulatory, and in-house audits, monitoring plant performance, developing action plans, and ensuring adherence to customer quality policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the quality team in the areas of safety, service, performance, quality, and leadership.
- Maintain continuous communication with all departments to ensure production priorities and shortfalls are addressed in a timely manner.
- Establish and review HACCP programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct customer, regulatory, and in-house audits to assess compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor plant performance and develop action plans to address areas of concern.
- Develop and maintain operational quality standards, batch sheets, and specification sheets.
- Ensure adherence to customer quality policies and procedures as stated in their manuals.
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality management, with a degree in biology or chemistry or a related field. Essential skills include leadership, budget management, operations management, project management, vendor/contract management, metric management, and communication/people skills. Desirable skills include knowledge of statistical process control, understanding of regulatory guidelines, customer interaction, salaried and hourly management skills, organizational skills, sensory knowledge, and food or pharmaceutical knowledge.
