Summary: Safety Manager is responsible for developing, planning and implementing safety and safety compliance programs to control risks, prevent losses and protect the personnel and assets of the Company.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 07:30 AM to 05:30 PM, 2 Saturday a month from 07:30 AM to 12:00 PM

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to do the following:
- Direct Safety and compliance programs for MSI through effectively leadership.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Responsible for working with the Safety Director to design and direct programs to reduce accidents, occupational illness, and exposure to long term health hazards.
- Partner with operations teams to develop best practices and training programs.
- Plan and deliver training programs for managers and employees on relevant accident prevention and compliance programs such as: Lockout/Tagout, Ergonomics, PPE, fire prevention and protection, and Hazard Communication.
- Conduct analyses of incident causes and associated health hazards to be used to target specific prevention strategies and measure financial impact upon the Company. Prepares and maintains required documentation of incident reports, statistical analyses and other reports for use as required by company personnel and outside agencies.
- Administer the policies and procedures and manage staff relating to the Company’s Safety Program and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze, review, prepare and submit recommendations to the Safety Director and various leadership teams, for action plans to minimize company exposure to costs associated with Worker’s Compensation.
- Conduct worksite assessments to identify and evaluate safety and health risks, compliance exposures and management systems deficiencies. Develops strategies to reduce or eliminate these risks and exposures
- Perform additional duties as required and or requested.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- Five (5) plus years’ of safety and health leadership and management experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies, procedures and practical application governing Safety in the workplace.
- Demonstrated experience leading or facilitating the development and implementation of business oriented projects.
- Ability to perform in a high pressure environment and/or crisis situation and render good decisions to resolve the problems, maintain safety and ensure adherence to Corporate Code of Conduct
- Ability to act as a managerial advisor on professional and technical issues related to Safety.
- Ability to deal in a high-pressure environment (occasionally in a crisis situation) and render good decisions to resolve the problems.
- Ability to travel to regional facilities for review, assessment and training needs. Travel up to 50% with first 2 months up to 75% of the time.
