MSMM is seeking a hardworking, driven individual eager to learn with an interest in quantitative analysis. The Catastrophe Modeling Analyst will work alongside experienced modelers to learn catastrophe modeling concepts and perform account-level modeling for the company’s property units utilizing our vendor software (AIR) and internal tools to provide underwriters result outputs needed to make informed risk decisions. This consists of the collection, analysis and quality control of MSMM’s property book of business. The individual will work with the catastrophe modeling team for data analysis related to property aggregations, PML calculations, portfolio level profitability and trend indications. This is a hybrid position based in Warren, NJ but are open to considering other locations within the country where a MSMM office is accessible. Essential Functions Perform account-level property catastrophe modeling under the direction of experienced modelers Identify and track aggregate exposures in order to assist in the prevention of undue loss potential to the company from extreme events, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and wildfires Track and monitor underwriting data by working with CAT modeling team to develop and provide analysis on the data necessary to manage MSMM’s property portfolio Maintain and control quality of property catastrophe data by monthly/quarterly/annual file and portfolio reviews and completion of QC checklists Collaborate with catastrophe modeling team, underwriting, reinsurance and management teams to develop and implement “best practices” for ensuring data quality across the property portfolio Provide support to field underwriters in the use of and problem resolution in areas of catastrophe modeling Assist in the creation, delivery and/or coordination of internal or external training programs related to MSMM’s Catastrophe Management activities Assist with various ad hoc reports as assigned Education & Experience: Currently Attending College Strong knowledge of Excel It's an exciting time for our company and a great opportunity to join a financially sound and growing global insurance group!
