On-Call Veterinary Anesthesia Technician/Assistant

Looking for Anesthesia Technicians/Assistants to cover on-call hours, ALL SCHEDULED SHIFT HOURS WILL BE PAID! This is a full time position/40 hours per week. Schedule options below.

2 x 14 hr shifts 1 x 12 hr shift [40hrs] or 2 x 13 hr shifts 1 x 14 hr shift [40hrs]
14 hr shift = 5pm-7:30am (mon to Fri only)
13 hr shift = 6am -8pm (Sat & Sun only)
12 hrs shift 7pm-7:30am (Sat & Sun only)

30 minute breaks at prearranged scheduled times for each shift.
Coverage of other on-call anesthesia staff when needed, working as a team to cover all 7 nights and Saturday /Sunday daytime.

The Position:

The primary responsibility of the On-call Anesthesia Technician/Assistant is to provide overnight out of hours support for emergent cases through the surgery department practicing the highest quality anesthetic patient care. The position is primarily an on-call position and report to the hospital for emergent surgical/anesthetic cases. The Anesthesia Technician needs to be able to appropriately handle critical and emergent cases with the team including the surgery technician, surgeon and other on-call team members. 

Some Responsibilities to include:

• Be able to arrive at the hospital within 1 (one) hour of initial call. 
• Demonstrate and model advanced anesthesia technical skills for emergent cases.  
• Providing the most appropriate perioperative patient care.
• Handle arrest situations.
• Knowledge and ability to operate all equipment used in the surgery/anesthesia department.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years in anesthesia exclusive experience. Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician in order to be hired as a Technician.
