Position :
Senior Network Engineer
Location :
Quantico, VA (Onsite 5 days a week)
Responsibilities :
Network Performance Monitoring and Control :
Monitor and control the performance and status of network resources across multiple enclaves using advanced software and hardware tools.
Documentation and Collaboration :
Develop and maintain comprehensive networking documentation, encompassing drawings, cut sheets, configurations, and deployment plans.
Collaborate closely with RKB tenant agency engineers to support networking-related projects.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting :
Provide day-to-day subject matter expert support for RKB tenant agencies, offering expertise in troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues for all network systems.
Hardware / Software Management :
Design, configure, and install networking hardware / software replacements and upgrades with a focus on minimizing downtime and optimizing network efficiency.
Vendor Coordination :
Work collaboratively with vendors in support of the ITCSU, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies and resolving any issues promptly.
Security and Compliance :
Ensure all networking applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated promptly, maintaining a secure network environment.
Preventative Maintenance :
Perform routine preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.
Continuous Learning :
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data center and service provider domains, incorporating relevant advancements into the network infrastructure to enhance performance.
Programmatic Development and Security Mitigation :
Collaborate with team engineers to develop programmatic actions aimed at minimizing security risks and optimizing network functionality.
Reporting and Documentation :
Prepare and maintain necessary reports as required, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of network performance and issues.
Ad-hoc Tasks :
Perform other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office, contributing to the overall success of the network infrastructure.
Required Qualifications / Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Management, or Cyber Security, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in computer system / network engineering, including at least two (2) years of data center experience.
Previous experience as a Network Engineer in a large government environment.
Extensive expertise with OSPF, BGP, and HSRP protocols.
Hands-on experience with Cisco ASR routers, Catalyst switches, Nexus switches, and ASA Firewalls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Word.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or successful completion of DCCOR, ENCOR, SPCOR exams.
DoD 8570 certification at the IAT-II / IAM-II level.
Security Clearance :
Must have and maintain a Secret personnel clearance and be eligible for a TS / SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications / Education and Experience :
Previous experience with modern data center technologies, including Cisco VPC, Cisco VDC, and VRF Lite, enhancing network efficiency and functionality.
