Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer

This role is primarily responsible for ensuring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) across all vehicle electronic systems and their environments. Additionally, the EMC Engineer will contribute to developing future strategies, enhancing technical capabilities, and improving efficiency across the organization.

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in developing electronics systems and vehicles that provide an exceptional experience for our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and execute vehicle-level EMC evaluations, working closely with project and department leadership to ensure thorough test coverage.
• Act as the EMC engineering representative, collaborating with internal and external customers to resolve technical challenges, consulting with project leadership and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as needed.
• Support design reviews (DRs), including noise DRs, with R&D design teams.
• Utilize EMC simulation, performance prediction tools, and part design/packaging guidelines to facilitate prototype-free and accelerated vehicle development.
• Identify and address gaps in component and vehicle EMC validation methods.
• Continuously improve and establish new processes to enhance EMC laboratory quality and efficiency.

Requirements

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in electronics circuit design.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Functional understanding of automotive components, including accessory electronics and actuators.
• A valid U.S. driver’s license.

Bonus Points If You Have

• An advanced degree or specialized training in EMC.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience with EMC evaluation specifications and technical reporting.
• At least one year of experience in the EMC field.
• Proficiency in Japanese.
