What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Specialist position at MSR Technology Group?
Position Overview:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between finance, supply chain, inventory, purchasing, CSR, shipping, receiving, and digital technology teams, ensuring seamless data flow and process alignment while maintaining compliance with QA standards.
- Monitor and resolve system transaction issues in JDE to ensure accurate recording and processing of financial data.
- Collaborate with teams to resolve discrepancies in inventory movements, work orders, invoicing, cost allocations, and tracking.
- Ensure that financial processes are in sync with operational workflows to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in TIER meetings to address cost-related concerns:
- Provide financial insights on labor costs, material variances, and work order discrepancies.
- Identify cost drivers impacting budget performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Work closely with operations teams, managers, and supervisors to implement improvements that enhance cost efficiency.
Finance Oversight & Cost Management:
- Streamline processes across cross-functional teams for improved efficiency.
- Manage and resolve discrepancies in reports, journal entries (JEs), and transfers to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct spot audits of journal entries, work order closings, and MRO finance team transactions for accuracy.
- Spot audit cycle counts on the shop floor.
- Oversee the flow of costs into accounts, ensuring proper allocation.
- Collaborate with sister sites to ensure cost updates and accurate communication.
- Perform analysis and reconciliation to address financial discrepancies and ensure alignment with transactions.
- Provide backup support for payroll, PTO, timekeeping, and reconciliation processes.
Finance Reporting & Closeout:
- Assist with journal entries for month-end closeout and reporting as needed.
- Support the financial closeout process by ensuring data accuracy in cost allocations and reporting metrics.
- Work with sister sites and manage flexible hours to facilitate smooth communication and transition into ERP systems.
Qualifications:
- Experience in finance, payroll, and cost analysis.
- MRO operations experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of journal entries, financial auditing, SOX compliance, and work order reconciliation.
- Proficient in JDE, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot financial discrepancies and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility in work hours.
