Job Summary
A Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a physical therapist to help patients improve their mobility and functional abilities. They provide hands-on treatment, assist with therapeutic exercises, and support patients in their recovery process.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical or vocational school with an associates degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE); six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in administering physical therapy treatments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the State of Michigan.
