What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician (2nd shift Sunday-Wednesday 8:30pm-7am) position at MSW Packaging?

We are looking for a maintenance technician to join our team. This is a second shift position with hours from 8p-7a Sunday-Wednesday. Full-time and negotiate wage based on experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Working knowledge and ability perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operation and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
- Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and mechanical diagrams
- Responsible for the overall reliability and efficiency of packaging line/equipment
- Maintain a safe and orderly production line area
- Ensure that all work completed in a safe manner aligned with our Quality and Safety Policies while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices
- Completing required preventative maintenance tasks
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory of required materials
- Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as Fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers and related fire protection system equipment as assigned
- Performs electrical repairs and maintenance, including: Replacement of bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures, minor troubleshooting of faulty electrical systems/circuits, Minor HVAC PMs; replace filters
- Minor facilities repair such as: minor plumbing repairs and troubleshooting, replace door locks and hardware, repair and maintenance of floors, stairways, drywall, painting, doors, windows, and furniture
- Performs various semi-skilled and skilled tasks (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, wiring, painting, drywall, welding, etc.).
- Completing relevant documentation thoroughly and accurately
- Willingness to comply with HACCP, SQF, OSHA and other company policies and procedures.
Required skills:
- Prefer at least 2 years of experience with electrical work and pneumatic systems; experience with printers, glue systems, and conveyors preferred
- Excellent attendance record
- Familiarity with Microsoft Based programs
- Comfortable with online searches for sources parts
- Flexibility and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities
- Strong communication skills
- Must be detail oriented and a self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Essential Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing; Continuous movement in and around packaging line; Frequent bending and stooping; Occasional lifting up to 50lbs; Pushing and pulling up to 50lbs; Climbing stairs and ladders
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments to include inclement weather.
