Responsibilities:
- Lead data platform operations, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of Oracle environments across production and non production instances.
- Manage and monitor job schedules, troubleshoot failures, and implement solutions to ensure seamless data operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement enhancements as part of continuous improvement.
- Support and maintain database objects such as tables, views, materialized views, PL/SQL packages, and ETL workflows.
- Perform database upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities in alignment with business requirements and compliance standards.
- Provide operational support for data integrations and migrations involving Guidewire DataHub, Guidewire CDA, or similar P&C insurance systems.
- Work with reporting tools like WebFOCUS to ensure reports are accurate and delivered on time.
- Support modernization initiatives, including migrating legacy data platforms to cloud based solutions like Databricks or other data lakehouse architectures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in Oracle database environments, with strong knowledge of PL/SQL and data management best practices.
- Proficiency in job scheduling and monitoring tools, and experience in managing batch job dependencies and job windows.
- Knowledge of WebFOCUS reporting tools or equivalent BI platforms.
- Experience with data integration tools and platforms such as ODI or GoldenGate.
- Familiarity with Guidewire products (DataHub or CDA) or similar P&C insurance systems.
- Exposure to modern cloud based data platforms like Databricks, including data lakehouse architectures, is a strong advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex data issues.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and work in a cross functional environment.
