Job Title: VxRail Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled VxRail Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our client's IT infrastructure and ensure the stability and optimization of their VxRail environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the customer's IT team and CIO to implement best practices, manage firmware updates, optimize operations, and provide knowledge transfer to internal staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the VxRail infrastructure has the latest firmware updates by coordinating with customer support and the CS team.
- Work as a trusted advisor to the CIO and assist with stabilizing and optimizing the VxRail environment.
- Perform day-to-day operational tasks, including VMware infrastructure management, permissions, VM management, licensing, and vSphere networking.
- Manage lifecycle processes for VxRail, including version upgrades, maintenance, and firmware updates.
- Educate the customer on best practices for version and code upgrades, system maintenance, and overall infrastructure management.
- Assist in optimizing the VxRail environment to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Review and improve IT processes and policies, including incident management, capacity planning, performance tuning, change management, user policies, and backup strategies.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions to enhance the skills of customer team members.
- Troubleshoot and optimize VxRail performance while ensuring the customer gains a thorough understanding of system management.
- Monitor, review, and manage the backup environment following Dell EMC best practices.
- Proactively recommend improvements and best practice methodologies throughout the engagement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in Dell EMC VxRail architecture, configuration, and administration.
- Strong knowledge of VMware infrastructure including vSphere, vSAN, and related technologies.
- Experience with firmware updates, lifecycle management, and system optimization.
- Hands-on experience with incident, capacity, performance, and change management policies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to optimize virtualized environments.
- Ability to conduct knowledge transfer and training sessions for internal teams.
- Proactive and confident in providing best practice recommendations to customers.
- Experience monitoring and managing backup environments using Dell EMC solutions.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV or higher.
- Dell EMC VxRail certification.
- Experience working in enterprise IT environments.
- Previous experience as a consultant or resident engineer.
