As a Weatherization Specialist I, you will have the opportunity to work on a team to perform a wide range of general construction retrofit measures that include varying electric, plumbing and weatherization services.
In this role, you will also learn a variety of residential home remodeling skills including air-sealing and insulation of the building shell, installation of energy-efficient lighting, and the application of other Energy Conservation Measures (ECM). Minimum Requirements:
- Two years of Weatherization Experience
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation to and from Johnstown office location
- Working cell phone with data plan
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Ability to show up on time and follow a schedule
- Motivated and willing to learn new skills and trades
- Ability to work year-round, indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
- Comfortable performing job duties within deteriorated homes and confined spaces, such as attics or crawl spaces
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb a ladder, bend, reach, crawl, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Load and unload work vans/box trucks with supplies and equipment daily
- Read project descriptions and prepare equipment for projects
- Drive company vehicles such as a work vans/box trucks
- Work with other team members to ensure quality installation of ECMs
- Use problem-solving skills to analyze existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions
- Take direction from the Crew Leader and follow all required safety protocols, including using Personal Protective Equipment
- Perform post-installation testing and documentation (blower door, combustion, etc)
