MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL BIBLE TEACHER
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB TYPE: Part-time position Tuesdays & Thursdays.
JOB DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE:
We are seeking a Middle & High School Bible Teacher who possesses a strong desire and depth of knowledge to help students in grades six through twelve explore and discover the wonder of God’s sovereign providence, order, and creative power revealed through each subject.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and actively and regularly participates in an evangelical, Bible-believing fellowship.
2. Enjoys working with middle and high school age students and desires for Christ to grow their minds and hearts.
3. Thoroughly understands and whole-heartedly supports the statement of faith, educational philosophy, and standards of conduct of Mt. Carmel Christian Academy.
4. Must be 21 years of age and have proof of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in education, or equivalent work experience as a teacher.
5. Is able to integrate a Biblical worldview into the content of each subject taught.
6. Is able to take responsibility and directives while being dependable and flexible.
7. Is able to maintain confidentiality.
8. Is able to communicate and interact well with other adults as a team player and humbly applies Scriptural principles to potential conflict situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Willingly cooperate with other teachers, school administration, and pastoral staff to preserve a Christ-centered, edifying, and harmonious atmosphere.
2. Attend all required MCCA staff functions, including teacher workdays, orientation, twice monthly staff meetings, and graduation ceremonies.
3. Submit any curriculum choices for administrative approval prior to use and follow full scope and sequence for each class to which assigned.
4. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of subject matter.
5. Prepare weekly lesson plans with instructional objectives and concepts, engaging learning tasks, and resources, including use of technology to enhance instruction.
6. Provide an effective and stimulating learning environment that will help motivate students to want to learn in each of their assigned classes.
7. Employ a system of grading and student assessment that will serve to provide each student and parents/guardians with an accurate appraisal of his/her work.
8. Maintain accurate records appropriate to the teaching assignment and submit promptly required reports, including student grades, attendance, etc.
9. Effectively manage classroom and discipline procedures to provide a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and respect for others.
10. Model effective teacher/parental partnering through timely communication with parents (e.g., posting of assignments, grades, conferencing).
11. Attend to light housekeeping chores each day, as needed, to keep the classroom clean, neat, and appealing.
12. Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and initiative in the performance of all responsibilities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $2,220.00 - $4,000.00 per year
