Job Description

Job Title : Clinical Dietitian

Job Specialty : Dietician

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : To be discussed at the interview

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years as a clinical dietitian

License : Active Alaska License required

Certifications : Dietetic Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration

Must-Have :

Flu vaccination
Active Alaska License

Job Description :

Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide patient care that aligns with medical goals and cultural considerations.

Responsible for making daily decisions on nutritional management for inpatients and outpatients.

Stay updated on clinical areas to manage daily problems effectively.

Translate complex regulations into everyday practice.

Provide counseling on nutritional principles, dietary plans, and food selections to patients and caregivers.

Work closely with healthcare teams and serve as a consultant on nutritional care.

Provide nutrition guidance to long-term care residents and hospitalized patients.

Collaborate with hospital nutrition services staff for effective patient care.

Participate in community health fairs and outreach activities to promote good nutrition.

Other duties as assigned by the Supervising Dietitian or Division Director.

Baseline Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Institutional Management from an accredited program.

Completion of an approved dietetic internship program.

Two years of clinical dietitian experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Advanced knowledge of medical nutrition therapy.

Proficient in computer software and electronic medical record charting.

Skills in clinical nutrition services, education, counseling, and teaching.

Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
