Job Description :
- Accurately collect and document information in patient charts, ensuring records are in order and medical data is compiled as needed.
- Ensure patient medication and immunization records are current.
- Recognize signs or symptoms requiring prompt intervention and act appropriately.
- Transport patients within the facility as needed.
- Manage patient care duties smoothly while maintaining clinic flow.
- Report and, when appropriate, record any changes in patients' conditions, unusual incidents, or safety breaches.
- Observe patients to ensure those requiring assistance have someone in attendance.
- Set up equipment and supplies for routine exams and minor procedures.
- Prepare patients for and assist with procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries.
- Provide specimen collection and Point of Care Testing (POCT), following protocols for specimen handling.
- Perform and assist with radiology exams per protocol, if competencies are met.
- Assist providers and clinic nurses as directed and within licensed scope of practice.
- Provide immunizations and injections as ordered by providers.
- Perform basic life support, as certified.
- Assist providers in identifying patients overdue for immunizations and preventive health maintenance.
- Offer cross-coverage for peers to ensure efficient patient flow through the department.
- Attend and participate in at least 50% of area staff meetings annually; apply information presented, participate in unit goal setting, comply with scheduling guidelines, and initiate discussion on department issues.
- Refer unresolved problems with patients, visitors, or co-workers to the appropriate Manager.
- Address employee concerns consistently with Human Resources Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
