Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes. Responsible for collecting co-insurance payments.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
- Perform insurance verification and ensure proper documentation is collected.
- Review patient documentation for accuracy before appointments.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
- Handle clerical tasks including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Use multiple forms of communication (email, fax, call, etc,.) to obtain authorizations for screening/procedures
- Support office management tasks to ensure smooth operations.
Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical practices.
- Proficiency in computer programs
- Familiarity with Medicare processes and insurance verification.
- Strong clerical skills, including 10 key typing proficiency.
- Ability to review documentation meticulously to ensure accuracy.
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Strong organizational skills to support office management functions.
