Responsibilities
- Attach canvas awnings and frames onto residential homes and commercial buildings, using ladders, hand tools, and power tools.
- Measure installation site of awning, like door, window and store front and marks location for frame brackets hinges.
- Take down canvas awnings and prepare for seasonal storage. Maintain and organize awnings within storage facility.
- Other support functions for the Fabrication Shop and Weld Shop, keeping a clean environment, organizing inventory, and maintaining tools.
Education: High school graduate or equivalency.
Experience: General knowledge of construction, and use of hand and power tools.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Good interpersonal skills, including demonstrated the ability to develop positive working relationships with coworkers, managers, and supervisors.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Skills, knowledge, and abilities to safely operate types of hand and power tools such as a power drill, adhesion press, grommet punch, industrial-grade sewing machine, and other general tools and equipment.
- Able to read various measuring instruments.
- Organizational skills, including effectively handling multiple tasks and competing priorities, prioritizing own work activity and maintaining an orderly environment.
- Skills, knowledge, and ability to operate some warehouse management and machine software(s) at a proficient level.
- Ability to solve practical problems, apply judgment and deal with various situations with limited supervision.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
