What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Mt. Mansfield UUSD?
Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District is looking for an organized, detail oriented accountant to join our Central Office team. This position provides accounting support to the supervisory union and nine schools. The accountant acts as the primary financial agent for the food service program throughout the district, co-manages the annual purchase order system, supports Facilities Coordinator in purchase order process, generates varied monthly financial reports, works closely with school administrative staff to provide day-to-day chart of accounts and purchase order support, provides training for administrative support district-wide in accounting systems and recommends improvements designed to enhance financial reporting processes.
This position is full-time (32 hours a week), year-round, with steady biweekly, monthly and quarterly rhythms as well as shifting priorities throughout the year as needed. This position works closely with central office accounting staff, school nutrition director and school nutrition staff, and school-based administrative assistants. Fields general inquiries from all employees surrounding the general ledger distribution of transactions and proper accounting procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business or with three years work experience required. Familiarity with governmental fund accounting systems preferred. This position offers flexibility in work hours, the potential for a hybrid of remote and in-person work once fully trained, a paid half hour lunch each day and a supportive team of colleagues.
