Safely operates forklift to transport items from Finished Goods staging area to warehouse storage area.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Operates forklift in a pedestrian area to transport items from Finished Goods staging area to warehouse storage area. Maintains accurate record of finished goods transported. Helps keep storage area in warehouse in a neat and orderly fashion.
Operates shrink-wrap machine to shrink-wrap pallets as needed prior to taking them to warehouse storage area.
Completes Pre-Operational Checklist each day before operating lift. Reports all forklift damage or malfunction to supervisor.
Operates forklift always at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching closely for pedestrians or other motorized vehicles.
Operates forklift to pull and stage slip sheets, trays, inserts, etc.
Operates forklift to move rework pallets from production lines to Rework area once pallet is full.
Operates forklift to pull taste-test pallets for Quality Control. Puts taste-test pallets in staging area near label room.
Keeps work area clean and orderly.
Follows safety rules and company policies.
Other Duties
May be cross-trained as Machine Laborer.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Requirements:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Certified forklift operator. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Ability to read, write and speak English needed. Math skills needed include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Forklift, Stretch Wrap Machine, Calculator, Air Hose, Knife.

Work Environment
Works inside, subject to some seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from some job tasks. Fumes from hot pepper and forklifts. Earplugs required because of irritating machinery noise. Some contact with grease. Head cover and beard cover required.
