We have an opening for a Staffing Clerk on Day Shift – Goldsboro plant
Summary
Assists with staffing responsibilities including scheduling position assignments, verification of startup employee placements and all changes or transfers during the shift. Acts as timekeeper for department. Performs clerical duties and physical inventory counts and item verifications.
Duties And Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Assists Supervisor in determining proper staffing of production lines.
Assigns work schedule to Finished Goods Department employees, and makes changes to schedule as necessary for proper staffing. Verifies employees are properly assigned through physical verification of placements, startup and all changes during the shift. Uses personal computer to complete detailed staffing worksheets based on employees scheduled to work and actual work being completed.
Uses personal computer and a staffing templet to document and assign employees working in the Finished Goods Department. Makes Supervisor aware of any attendance problems, missing punches, employee transfers, etc. Verifies missing punch data with employee for approval by supervisor. Generates reports either routinely or as requested from the timekeeping software for department Supervisor.
On a daily basis uses personal computer along with warehouse management software and a physical count to compare and verify actual production coincides with production records.
Assists Supervisor with clerical/administrative work. Performs a number of clerical duties, such as typing memos and reports, completing reports, creating and updating spreadsheets, filing, making copies, etc.
Assists the FG leads with looking up and requesting parts for case up equipment. Communicates needed part information with the production maintenance planner.
Retrieves parts and consumables from the stock room
Tracks all inventory on necessary FG components (glue, wrap, staples, etc...). Orders additional when needed.
Monitors, updates and reports case up Vorne scan percentages daily. Communicates findings with the appropriate machine operator.
Assists in monitoring weekly and monthly PMs, daily startup inspections. Closes out PM work orders, updates and prints any changes to the program inspections and ensure any missed inspections are addressed.
Keeps work area clean and tidy.
Follows safety rules and company policies.
Other duties
Routinely corresponds with Human Resources Department and other timekeepers within the company. Assists other departments with timekeeping duties as needed.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
Receives written instructions from packing schedule or verbal instructions from supervisor on above tasks and performs other work as directed by supervisor.
Documents and tracks online rework performed in the department. Including corresponding with Quality Assurance Department to perform rework accurately and have ready for release.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High school plus additional training preferred. Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. Good written and verbal English communication skills needed, some conversational Spanish ability a plus. Ability to keep accurate and detailed records. Basic personal computer skills, with knowledge of standard business software. Certified forklift operator. Valid NC driver’s license with good driving record required.

Splits time between office, production line and warehouse environments. Usual office working conditions. Plant and warehouse are inside, subject to some seasonal temperature variations. Industrial high speed production equipment throughout and steady forklift traffic. Earplugs required in plant because of irritating machinery noise. Head cover and beard cover required in plant. Steel-toed shoes required.
