Cemetery Grounds Utility

Overview
The Cemetery Grounds Utility Worker plays a pivotal role in maintaining the grounds of a historic Catholic cemetery and supporting the Grounds team in performing tasks assigned by the Foreman. No experience is necessary, but mechanical aptitude with knowledge of equipment is highly desirable.

Duties

• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various grounds tasks.
• Perform physical labor relating to ground interments, entombments, installing or repairing cemetery memorials, and other general maintenance duties as assigned.
• Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and report any issues promptly.

Skills

• Proficiency in using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruners.
• Ability to read and comprehend and follow given instruction(s)
• Operate company-owned trucks and mobile equipment with a valid, state-issued Driver's License
• Lift and carry 80 pounds
• Experience with power tools including lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, hand dig, pull hand over hand, stand and walk for an extensive period of time.
• Strong skills in groundskeeping to maintain clean and attractive outdoor spaces.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols while performing tasks.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D

Other Requirements

• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours Monday - Friday and Saturdays as needed.
