TITLE: Director of Development, Annual Giving
REPORTS TO: Chief Development Officer
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Director of Development, Annual Giving, is responsible for organizing, implementing, and managing the processes of the annual fund, the tax credit program, and the alumni relations program. The Director of Development, Annual Giving, is charged with maintaining and growing these programs, as well as providing support to the CDO on other strategic initiatives
· Profess faith in Jesus Christ and accepts and exemplifies the MPCS covenant statement, culture and mission statement of Mount Paran Christian School.
· Accepting the work at Mount Paran Christian School as a personal calling and identify themselves as ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
· Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in development/fundraising.
· A high degree of professionalism, sound judgement, awareness, and discretion while maintaining complete confidentiality.
· Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build, foster and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external constituencies.
· Strong written and verbal communications skills to express the school’s mission, vision and goals with clarity, passion, and persuasion.
· Impeccable organization and management skills; creative in approaches and resourceful.
· Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrates strong attention to detail and consistent follow through with assigned projects.
· Demonstrates a proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as experience with social media and internet research.
· Possesses a working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or other database experience including queries.
Requirements
· Organize and implement a comprehensive strategy for growing the annual fund and to solicit all members of the school community including: establishing a communication plan/timeline; recruitment, training, and recognition of volunteers; development of print collateral material; data management; financial analysis and reporting; and preparation of solicitations, communications, and stewardship.
· Organize and implement a comprehensive strategy for growing the tax credit program and to educate and solicit all members of the school community and corporations including: establishing a communication plan/timeline; contribution process and data management; reporting; preparation of solicitations, communications, and stewardship; guide and direct contributors in tax credit process; research and solicitation of corporations; work directly with the student scholarship organization.
· Manage the Alumni Relations Manager as he/she organizes and implements a comprehensive strategy for building and growing an alumni relations program including: establishing a year round communication plan/timeline; building an active alumni volunteer committee; alumni data management; and event planning and management.
· Work with marketing and communications staff to create and implement all communications (emails, newsletter submissions, social media, eblasts, magazine, annual report, website, campus signage, etc.) related to the annual fund, tax credit program, and alumni relations.
· Prepare development reports and special queries as requested for department, leadership team, and Board meetings.
· Assist in the planning and coordination of donor recognition events, activities, and gifts.
· Work with Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager to process and acknowledge all gifts and to establish development office processes for maintaining donor records.
· Advise and uphold fundraising policies of the school including: fielding outside solicitations; working with leadership team to guide staff according to fundraising policies; assist parent volunteer groups.
· Provide support to the Chief Development Officer and other development team members on campaigns, special projects, and fundraising strategies.
· Operate within the fundraiser’s code of ethics as outlined by Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
· Showing support and high esteem for MPCS
