Retail Sales Associate

We are looking for an upbeat and attentive Retail Sales Representative to provide excellent customer service and keep our store looking great. The hours required may vary, but our store operates six days a week from 9 AM to 9 PM. No late nights, no super early mornings! Flexible schedule if needed, up to 40 hours per week, but Saturday and Sunday shifts are required. Summers only, the store is open from 10-6 on Sunday.

Applicants must be motivated to provide a positive experience for every one of our customers through product knowledge and sales proficiency. You will help identify client needs, process sales on the POS system, answer questions about our products and services, stock shelves, and keep the store tidy. A positive attitude and a desire to learn about the wine and spirits industry will make you successful in this role. There is also potential to be a backup delivery driver for our accounts throughout the Flathead Valley. For this, a clean driving record and an interest in maintaining great relationships with our accounts is a must! Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and you will contribute to the store’s profitability.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage with customers
• Provide accurate information about our products, including location, price, sales trends and new releases
• Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
• Become proficient with our Point of Sale system - complete sales promptly and courteously; process wholesale orders with a focus on accuracy
• Cross-sell products
• Keep storage areas organized - must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
• Stock low-stock items and maintain store cleanliness
• Manage returns of merchandise
• Coordinate with other staff members to ensure excellent customer service at all business volumes
• Follow Montana State Law in regards to responsible sale of alcoholic beverages
• Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
• Stay up-to-date with new Liquor and Wine products/services
• Deliver products using store-provided truck and trailer (Extra role, will only apply to well-qualified candidates)

Skills

• Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role
• Understanding of the retail sales process from start to finish
• Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
• Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
• Basic math skills, basic computer skills, ability to operate POS system without touchscreen
• Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
• Flexibility to work various shifts with a primary focus on night and weekend shifts
• High school degree
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
• Marketing or merchandising experience is a plus
• Liquor and Wine Experience is a plus, as is a Responsible Seller of Alchohol certificate for Montana
• For backup driving role, a clean driving record and current Driver's License are required, as well as experience driving with a trailer.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
