Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Scheduler for the Outpatient Clinics ensures the cost-effective and efficient flow of communications while assisting patients with appointment scheduling. Provides optimal customer service and accurate and efficient patient registration.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Licensure / Certification :

  • High school diploma or GED required; more advanced coursework or training is highly desirable.

Knowledge

  • Three years of experience in automated scheduling in a physician office preferred; multi-provider medical office experience is highly desired.

    • Skills

  • Superior oral communication skills, with knowledge of medical terminology and spelling accuracy required.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and proven experience in personnel development and teamwork required.
  • Comfortable with regularly verifying and processing insurance eligibility and obtaining authorization requests, including verifying personal credentials with external partners to obtain this information.
