JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
• Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to assure treatment or care that is appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of the patients served
• Responsible for aiding Rehabilitation Therapists by assisting during treatments, Transporting Patients.
• Maintaining equipment and supplies throughout the Rehabilitation Services Department.
• Accepts general guidance, and clinical supervision from Rehabilitation Therapists.
• Reports to a Senior therapist to which assigned, Manager of Rehabilitation Development, or Manager of Feeding Day Program.
• Technicians can provide support by assisting with managing behavior, set-up of equipment, difficult transfers and providing distraction or play activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Educational Requirements
o High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred
• Licensure, Certification and Registration
o Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation certification
• Work Orientation and Experience
o Prefer some experience in pediatrics and direct patient care.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Oral/Written Skills
• Sensitivity/Tact in dealing with customers
• Ability to lift, position, or move patients to and from patient equipment while maintaining patient comfort and safety
• Ability to self lift 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity and mobility
• Ability to act quickly and decisively in emergency situations

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
• Supervision Received: Reports to Senior therapist, Manager of Rehabilitation Development, or Manager of Feeding Day Program, as assigned.
• Supervision Exercised: N/A
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
• Directly interfaces daily with patients, visitors, other health care team members, and other health care staff.
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED
• Operates adaptive equipment, physical agents, specialty beds, and equipment as outlined in Rehab Department Manual, and as limited by state licensing boards.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
• Occasional stress during emergency situations or multiple demands and/or telephone calls. Regular or continuous risk of exposure to body fluids, infectious waste or blood borne diseases requiring the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to established protocol.
